ASSALAMUALAIKUM...
Our class start at 4 pm at computer lab..Miss Zu want all of us to do online asessment. In online assessment, we are doing some exercise about paraphrasing..We have to finished it before 13 January 2013..If we don't do this assessment online we can get 10 marks..She gave us to do that exercise for a few minutes then she started the lecture about finding the main ideas. It's quite fun and i really like it..hehe Miss Zu showed to us how to finds the main points. we need to guess the hidden main ideas that is called scanning and skimming..
Scanning
means knowing what information you need to find before you read. You have
something in your mind, your eyes, then, move quickly to find that particular
information. You scan when you are looking for a fact or a detail or a
particular vocabulary word. When you are scanning, you don’t have to read every
word to answer the questions and don’t have understand every words
Skimming means
reading quickly for general meaning. You skim reading material to find out
about topic, the main idea, and generic structure of passage. For this kind of
reading, you only want to find out something and don’t want to know and
memorize everything you read. In fact, you should leave out everything except a
few important words.There are the words that tell you the general idea then we can to make a proper sentences..hehe i really excited to learn more about summarising..
After Miss Zu explained everything to us and we have to do the exercises that she gave to us..Now I get a clear guidelines abut how on do it a correct summarising..Then, Miss Zu want to play a fun games, we are divided into four groups we are played a games about this topics...Just enjoyed it..haha On this games we have to do is we have to found out about what the main topics in some clips video.. At first, our group got 2 mark then for the second and third games, we got zero. haha hope that i can improved it for the next times..Thats all for today..
